CORE Biaxial Geogrid 20 kN reinforces granular sub-bases, capping layers and railway ballast constructed over weak or variable subgrades. Its high-strength ribs provide reinforcement in two principal directions, while angular aggregate penetrates the square apertures and bears against the grid to create a secure mechanical interlock. This restricts lateral movement, improves load distribution and reduces rutting, creating a stiffer and more stable construction layer. Where incorporated into the project design, it can also reduce the required sub-base thickness—cutting excavation, aggregate consumption, installation time and overall construction costs.

Spread The Load

Installed directly over a prepared subgrade, Biaxial Geogrid provides reinforcement in both longitudinal and transverse directions. This helps distribute imposed loads across a wider area, reducing concentrated pressure on soft, wet or variable ground.

Improved load distribution can help limit localised movement, settlement and rutting under traffic. It is ideal for access roads, construction haul roads, working platforms, car parks, paved areas and other applications requiring a dependable foundation.

Build More with Less Aggregate

By improving aggregate confinement and load distribution, CORE Biaxial Geogrid can help create an efficient sub-base construction with less reliance on additional granular material. Subject to the project design and ground conditions, this may allow the required sub-base thickness to be reduced compared with an equivalent unreinforced construction.

Using less aggregate can mean reduced excavation, fewer deliveries and faster installation—helping lower material, transport and labour costs while reducing the environmental impact of the project.

Engineered for Better Ground Stability

Biaxial Geogrid stabilises granular sub-bases by controlling aggregate movement under compaction and traffic. As angular stone is compacted over the grid, particles project through the square apertures and bear against the ribs, restricting sideways movement and confining the layer.

Preventing the aggregate from spreading or migrating creates a stiffer, more consistent sub-base with greater resistance to rutting and deformation. This provides a dependable foundation for roads, working platforms, car parks and other trafficked areas.
