How are your Corten steel trough planters made?

All the planters in our extensive, high-quality range are made right here at our UK facility by hand. Our dedicated team of experienced designers takes notes of your desired measurements – standard or bespoke – before laser cutting the steel for unbeatable precision.

Our expert craftsmen will then use specialist machinery to apply folds to the sheet steel, before finishing your trough planters by hand. Each rectangular Arden trough planter has a double-folded return lip, which:

• Gives a much higher-quality, premium finish that looks much nicer than the standard steel-edge or single-fold alternatives available on the market
• Adds unbeatable strength and rigidity
• And makes things much safer for your hands when planting

The corners and connecting sides of our Arden trough planters are fully seam-welded, with our team taking the time and effort to smooth the welds to provide amazing corner and edge detail. Once we’re finished, you won’t know where the welds are!

What are your Corten steel trough planters made of?

Our Corten steel Arden trough planters are made from genuine, certified Corten steel, known for its unrivalled tensile strength and corrosion-resistant properties. We use sheets of Corten steel that are 2mm thick as standard, guaranteeing structural-grade durability across our range. However, we can produce planters with Corten steel that measures up to 6mm in thickness for those looking for an even more longevous solution.

Corten steel develops a unique, rust-like surface layer when exposed to the elements. This layer not only adds highly coveted red, yellow and rich brown hues to your garden but also serves to protect your planters from further corrosion.

How will my order arrive?

We work with a network of reliable UK pallet and parcel couriers, allowing us to deliver your new trough planters to any location across the country. We offer free deliveries on all of our orders, all of which will be tracked for your full peace of mind. Lead times are typically 3 to 4 weeks.

How do I maintain my trough planters?

The great thing about any of the planters in our Corten steel range is that they require little to no maintenance. Because the outer layer of Corten steel is self-protective, it doesn’t require any painting, varnish or other coatings. All you need to do is fill your planters and enjoy.

Other things to note:

• As Corten steel weathers naturally, it may produce a slight colour runoff, which could stain the surface your planters are placed on, particularly during the first six months.
• We can deliver both un-weathered and pre-weathered trough planters for your garden.
• All sizes are in millimetres and in Length x Width x Height format.
• Once production has started, we may not be able to accommodate changes or amends.
